A detailed report describes devastating floods in South Tyrol, the Adige Valley, and adjacent regions in October 1823. Persistent warm rains led to the overflowing of the Adige, Eisack, Rienza, and numerous mountain torrents, causing severe damage to roads, bridges, and cities such as Bozen, Trento, and Verona.
In August 1823, Crown Prince Archduke Ferdinand visited the town of Merano and the surrounding villages of the Burggrafenamt and Vinschgau. In May 1823, a report from Bozen describes an exceptionally large and heavy ox fattened by master butcher Stephan Pitschieler, originating from the Ulten Valley and reaching over 21 quintals in weight. A portion of its meat was donated to the local poor and two mendicant monasteries. Additionally, the report mentions a two-headed malformed calf born in December 1822, which was stuffed and put on display.
An addendum from Bozen reports on donations from the residents of the Schlanders judicial district to the workhouse fund through the purchase of New Year and name day exemption cards. In addition, an error regarding a job title in a previous list of names is corrected.
