Charity and donations for poor relief funds in Bozen, Sillian, and Schlanders
In 1822, donations from the sale of New Year excuse cards in Bozen and the Schlanders judicial district raised 480 florins toward a new workhouse. The farming class in Schlanders contributed significantly to this effort. In Sillian, the charitable initiative for the local poor started by district judge Kaspar von Ottenthal in place of traditional greeting cards also saw increased contributions.
