In September 1844, Archdukes Franz Joseph, Ferdinand Max, and Karl Ludwig toured the Adige District via Vinschgau, Meran, and Botzen. A notable highlight was their visit to the historic Sandhof in the Passeier Valley, where they honoured veterans of 1809.
On 13 August 1840, a solemn memorial service was held in Vienna's St. Rupert's Church for the fallen Tyrolean and Vorarlberg defenders of 1809. Alongside relatives of Andreas Hofer and Father Joachim Haspinger, twenty veterans of the Battle of Bergisel attended. Martin Frick announced that the memorial mass will henceforth be observed annually.

Report on the death of Anna Ladurner, widow of Andreas Hofer, at the age of 72 in Passeier. Following the events of 1809, she lived in quiet seclusion at the Sandhof, passing away after the tragic loss of all her daughters in recent years.
Following the failed assassination attempt on the King of Hungary in Baden, Anna von Hofer, widow of Andreas Hofer, held a solemn service of thanksgiving in her house chapel in the Passeier Valley. Family members and household staff attended the service to give thanks for the monarch's deliverance.

In St. Leonhard in Passeier, the Emperor's birthday was celebrated with school processions, a church service, and an evening gathering. Imperial-Royal officials, clergy, and former comrades-in-arms of the martyred Andreas Hofer gathered at the inn at the Sand. Despite the festive mood, the late innkeeper was remembered with quiet emotion.
