Military Command Thanks the Merano Magistrate for a Donation
On the occasion of the Emperor's birthday, the municipal magistrate of Merano donated wine and bread to the local garrison. The military command in Innsbruck formally expressed its thanks and reported the patriotic gesture to higher authorities.

Innsbruck, 8 July. Among the gifts received in the first half of the military year 1846 for the benefit of the troops in this land are also, according to a subsequent notice, the 120 Maß of wine and 100 loaves of bread, valued at 23 fl. 20 kr. C. M., donated by the magistrate of Merano on the birthday of His Majesty for the garrison stationed there; the military command therefore conveys its fitting thanks to the commendable magistrate, adding that this demonstrated patriotic sentiment has likewise been brought to the attention of the high military authority.
