The Imperial-Royal Provincial Gubernium has resolved to confer the post of Imperial-Royal district physician in Tione, in the Roveredo district, upon the Imperial-Royal district surgeon in Trient, Dr. Dominik Tecini.

Innsbruck, June 12. Yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock, Her Royal Highness the Duchess Henriette von Würtemberg arrived here with her retinue, took lodging at the Gasthof zur gold. Sonne, and continued her journey to Meran this morning at 8 o'clock.

Due to two children playing carelessly with matches, a terrible fire broke out on May 30 in the village of Madice, Imperial-Royal district court of Stenico, in the Roveredo district, destroying this village entirely in the brief span of barely half an hour. Owing to the speed and fury of the fire, almost nothing in the way of furnishings and foodstuffs could be saved; 27 houses fell victim to the flames and 31 families were plunged into destitution. The judicially assessed damage amounts to 26,481 florins Conventions-Münze, and the poor victims hope for bountiful support from the often-proven charity of the inhabitants of this province. May this recurring misfortune, caused by the careless use and improper storage of matches, serve as a general warning to parents, housemates, and servants to store matches properly so that children do not lay hands on them, who, as experience shows, all too often make a dangerous game of them, and also remind adults to handle matches with caution.
