Official Appointment, Transit of the Duchess of Württemberg, and Fire Disaster in Madice

The notices report on the appointment of Dr. Dominik Tecini as district physician in Tione, the transit through Innsbruck of Duchess Henriette of Württemberg on her way to Meran, and a devastating village fire in Madice. Caused by children handling matches carelessly, the fire consumed 27 houses, leaving 31 families destitute.

Drainage of the Vernagtferner Lake in the Ötztal

According to reports, the glacial lake dammed by the Vernagtferner in the Ötztal drained completely through an opening at its bed in late May 1846, causing no damage to the valley.
