Archduke Johann arrived in Innsbruck from Meran, accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel v. Froßsard. Following a brief stay at the inn zur goldenen Sonne, he continued his journey toward Salzburg.
On the occasion of the Emperor's birthday, the municipal magistrate of Merano donated wine and bread to the local garrison. The military command in Innsbruck formally expressed its thanks and reported the patriotic gesture to higher authorities.
