Recognition for Promoters of the Elementary School System in 1824

Tyrol.

The provincial authority considers it a pleasant duty to publicly accord well-deserved recognition for their noble efforts to the following distinguished promoters of the elementary school system in the year 1824.

In the local portion of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, the following deserve honorable mention:

The two provincial judges, Ferdinand v. Pichl at Zell am Ziller and Joseph Auer at Stumm; the district inspectors Georg Margreiter of St. Johann, Thomas Moser of Ellmau, and . . . . . .

In the Diocese of Trento:

The dean of Merano, Johann Nep. v. Tschiederer; the dean of Lana, Joseph Penn; the dean of Civezzano, Karl Tonini; and the school district inspector of Vezzano, Joseph Andreis, curate at Traveggio; furthermore, the curate of Darzo, Johann Scarpari, who donated a capital of 373 fl. to the school there; the curate of Moerna, Dominik Corsetti, who manages the local school without remuneration and lends the school premises; Magdalena Spagnoli, who conducts the girls' school in Aldeno free of charge and provides the poor girls with books and other necessaries at her own expense; Joseph Pircher of Sirmian, who provided the schoolroom in his house free of charge; the curate of Vöran, Anton Locher, who offered a meadow valued at 550 fl. as a building site for a school, as well as covering all other construction costs; finally Anton Ferrari, curate at Branzoll, who provides the school premises and supplies the poor children with everything necessary.
