Conferral of the Meran Parish and the Archdukes' Journey Through Tyrol

The Imperial-Royal United Court Chancellery has conferred the vacant princely town parish of Meran and Tirol upon the parish priest in Marling, Anton Santer.

Imst, Sept. 21. In the course of their journey on the evening of the 15th of this month, Their Imperial Highnesses the most serene Archdukes Franz Joseph, Ferdinand Max, and Karl Ludwig arrived in Prad in the best of health amid traditional festivities and honors; on the following day they undertook an excursion across the Stelvio Pass to Bormio, where they stayed overnight, returning the next day to Prad to continue their journey via Eyers to Meran. On the same day, His Imperial Highness their most serene father, Archduke Franz Karl, arrived back in Landeck on his return journey from Vorarlberg. Here he was once again graciously pleased to receive the warm homage of the populace, the traditional honors, and the respects of the ecclesiastical and civil authorities. On the morning of the 18th of this month, the departure from Landeck took place via Ried and Nauders toward the chosen overnight stop of Prad. The following day was appointed for an excursion to the Ferdinandshöhe, from which His Imperial Highness returned in the evening to Prad, festively illuminated in honor of his presence. The day after, he continued his journey via Eyers to Meran amid general expressions of deepest affection and reverence. Gracious acts of condescension and charity once again marked his presence in the Imst district. His Imperial Highness not only graciously remitted a notable sum of money to the District Captain of Imst for distribution among truly needy persons, but was also pleased to bestow in particular upon the worthy and meritorious curacy administrator Stephan Krismer in Stanz the sum of 100 florins Conventions-Münze as a gracious contribution toward furthering his tireless and fruitful work for the promotion and dissemination of the Sisters of Mercy institute dedicated to nursing the sick and female school education, as well as other institutions aimed at pious and public-benefit purposes of this kind. May this generous example secure everywhere for the designated institutions and their energetic promoter that sympathy and support which they so fully deserve.
