Overview

In May 1822, the sources document philological studies on linguistic enclaves as well as a broad solidarity campaign in the region. Following the fire in Imst, clergy, authorities, and schools in Bozen quickly organized a comprehensive donation drive for the victims. Additionally, historical linguistic samples and documents concerning the linguistic history of South Tyrol were published.

Relief efforts in Bozen following the fire disaster in Imst

Following the devastating fire in the market town of Imst, an appeal for donations and relief efforts was launched in Bozen. Clergy, authorities, associations, and schools quickly joined forces to collect money, food, and clothing. Within two days, significant funds and material donations were raised for the fire victims.

On the German Alpine Inhabitants of South Tyrol and the Adjacent Venetian Territory

These attachments to the statistical essay on German-speaking enclaves in South Tyrol and the Veneto region present two linguistic samples. Alongside a private letter from Vicenza written in the Cimbrian language with its German translation, a 1218 document by the parish priest and notary Lindrick of Pergine is reproduced.
