Daily Report.
Bozen, 4 November. Following the recent days of rain, sad reports are once again reaching us concerning the devastation caused by the swollen waters. The Eisack and the Talfer rose the day before yesterday and yesterday to an unusual height; the connection along the so-called Kunterweg to Brixen was destroyed in several places by washouts, particularly in the vicinity of the Vanotti sawmills, but has today been largely restored. More considerable was the water hazard on the road to Italy. The Etsch overflowed its banks near Branzoll, Auer, and Neumarkt, and the inhabitants of heavily stricken Salurn were threatened by two new breaches of the river. Today the rain has finally ceased, and the apprehension of greater danger has vanished. We await more detailed reports regarding the damage caused.

Important organizational decisions in education and social care accompanied these events. →
