Daily report.
Meran, 28 May. With the weather remaining in good humor, lively shooting took place today. His Imperial Highness Archduke Johann shot a two and a one in succession today. I saw Archduke Heinrich shoot two fours on the Schlecker. The prince-marksman once again demonstrated his skill at hitting the black in this competition. Thus, he shot two deep threes on the second main target. Among the Welschtirolers, nine of whom arrived yesterday from Fleims, Giorgio Giacomutzi of Siano shot a center on main target No. II. Vorarlberg also has its centers to show. Anton Mayr of Feldkirch and Karl Hörburger of Dornbirn are the fortunate ones who eliminated the mark, the former on main target No. I, the latter on main target No. III.
- 29 May. Today a grand marksmen's banquet was held at the Erzherzog Johann inn, where His Imperial Highness Archduke Johann, following the speech by the mayor of the town of Meran and the toast proposed by him, spoke moving words that left no eye dry.
