Frankfurt, 7 Jan. As soon as the legislative assembly is reopened, which will happen in 14 days, Frankfurt's accession to the Three Kings' Alliance will be raised there. Whether with success remains doubtful.
The assertion passed from the Wiener Lloyd into the Allg. Ztg. and Frankfurt papers that “Messrs. V. Radewitz and Bötticher had succeeded in convincing Messrs. v. Kübeck and Schönhals that it was not at all in the power of Prussia and the states allied with it to withdraw from the closer union,” rests on an error, as according to reliable reports no discussion of this kind has yet taken place within the federal commission.
An interesting remnant of the parliament is Beda Weber, who has moved here. Through intellect and an engaging personality, he stands at the head of our Catholic clergy. Remarkable above all is his talent for capturing youthful minds.
