Botzen, 22 Jan. As proceeds from the New Year dispensation cards for the year 1845, the following sums were received for charitable purposes in the below-mentioned towns of the Botzen district: In Botzen 285 fl. 39 kr.; in Meran 112 fl., and in Klausen 22 fl. 12 kr., totaling 419 fl. 51 kr. R. W.

Public expression of gratitude following a fire in Merano
Following a perilous fire during the night of 13–14 January 1845 in Merano, local resident Urban Pitsch expresses public gratitude to the responders. Alongside citizens, clergy, and officials, neighboring communities and local craftsmen contributed to extinguishing the blaze.
