Overview

In January 1845, two events marked Merano: following a dangerous fire in the night between January 13 and 14, a local resident publicly thanked the numerous local and regional helpers for their intervention. Additionally, the traditional New Year's levy in the District of Bolzano, which included Merano, raised over 419 florins for charitable purposes.

Public expression of gratitude following a fire in Merano

Following a perilous fire during the night of 13–14 January 1845 in Merano, local resident Urban Pitsch expresses public gratitude to the responders. Alongside citizens, clergy, and officials, neighboring communities and local craftsmen contributed to extinguishing the blaze.
