The Imperial Aulic War Council has deigned to award the Bravery Medal to the following individuals of the Tyrolean Jäger Regiment for the valor shown in the engagement near Rimini, mentioned in our issue No. 27: the gold medal to Private Martin Prünster, from St. Martin, judicial district of Passeyer, because he saved the life of Captain Mathias, who had been severely wounded in close combat by a blow from a rifle butt, by resolutely rushing to his aid and slaying the enemy combatant who was threatening the captain with a second fatal blow; the silver medal to Oberjäger Thomas Larcher from Malosco, judicial district of Fondo, who voluntarily broke out from the skirmish line with three men, captured a house occupied by the enemy, and took its fifteen-man garrison prisoner of war; and to Patrol Leader Franz Tschurtschenthaler from Sexten, judicial district of Sillian, who in like manner charged all by himself at ten men positioned behind a straw pile, killing one of them at five paces and taking the others prisoner. With genuine pleasure we make known these individual acts of bravery and the reward bestowed upon them as a further encouragement.
