Inauguration of the New Imperial-Royal District Court in Lana

Lana, 8 Sept. Yesterday, the solemn installation of the newly established Imperial-Royal District Court II Class, formed following the devolution of the two patrimonial courts of Lana and Ulten, took place here. As early as the 5th of this month, the Princely Commissioner of Induction, Imperial-Royal Gubernial Councillor and District Captain Oktavian Anton Petter, arrived here amidst a respectful and solemn reception at the border of the judicial district. On the following day, the dissolution and handover of the patrimonial court of Ulten took place, along with the solemn presentation of the newly appointed Imperial-Royal District Judge, Mr. Johann Georg Aigner, to the Reverend clergy and the municipal leaders of that district. On the morning of 7 September, numerous mortar salutes announced the arrival of the long-awaited day of celebration for the inhabitants of Lana. Following the swearing-in of the district court staff, a solemn church service was held and concluded with the Ambrosian hymn of thanksgiving. Despite the heavy rain, a large crowd from all walks of life, including from neighboring judicial districts, attended this religious ceremony. The Princely Commissioner then proceeded to the district court building, accompanied by the court staff, the clergy, the representative of the previous court ownership of Lana, and the municipal heads, where the solemn presentation of the Imperial-Royal District Judge Aigner—deeply esteemed by the assembly as the former patrimonial judge in Lana—and the rest of the court personnel took place. The Imperial-Royal Gubernial Councillor and District Captain delivered a substantial speech befitting this solemn occasion, which was received by all with visible emotion and answered with expressions of the deepest gratitude for this new proof of the paternal care of His Majesty, our most gracious Sovereign. This official ceremony was followed by a meal at the District Judge's residence, during which the general joy among the assembled guests found expression in cordial toasts to the well-being of Their Majesties and the entire Most Serene Archducal House of Austria. A target shooting contest arranged for the occasion was graced by the participation of the highly revered Commissioner of Induction, and, along with diverse other festivities, enhanced the celebration of a day that leaves the most grateful and indelible memory.
