Chronicle

June 1849

Overview
In June 1849, the esteemed high school professor Beda Weber left Merano to assume the office of city pastor in Frankfurt am Main, a departure met with regret in local correspondence regarding the loss for Tyrol. At the same time, severe weather triggered a devastating mudslide in Lichtenberg, destroying three buildings and claiming seven lives. These events reflect the departure of prominent figures as well as recurring natural disasters in the region.
