Overview

On the occasion of the imperial name day in October 1828, solemn events were held in the region, including a high mass and a charity performance. An amateur company of the most prominent families staged Kotzebue's drama "Der Taubstumme". The benefit event raised 255 florins for the deaf-mute institute then under construction.

Celebration of the imperial name day and charity theatre in Bozen

On the occasion of the imperial name day, a charity theatre performance was held in Bozen alongside a solemn high mass. An amateur company from prominent local families performed Kotzebue's drama "The Deaf and Dumb", raising 255 florins for the nascent institute for the deaf and dumb.
