Daily Report.

Meran, 23 April. This morning at 1:30 a.m., Dr. Friedrich Lentner, universally respected as a person as well as a poet and man of letters, died of a pulmonary ailment that had weakened his health for a long time. Our town, which he came to love as a second home, owes a deep debt of gratitude to the deceased. — On the occasion of his death, the "Innsbrucker Zeitung" notes: His end, like his life, resembled a lamp. His mortal remains will rest in undisturbed peace alongside the grateful citizens of the town of Meran, but his memory will be preserved through his songs and evocative novellas throughout the German fatherland.
