From Merano a correspondent writes to the "Allg. Ztg.": The number of foreign visitors staying here, partly for the grape cure, is quite considerable and seems to increase year after year. Recently, the bathhouse located in the neighboring Ulten Valley fell prey to flames. The fire broke out during the night due to carelessness and is said to have almost completely consumed the buildings, which were constructed mostly of wood. The establishment was situated rather isolated, so that prompt and sufficient help was likely impossible.
