Frankfurt, 10 October. In today's session, Zimmermann of Stuttgart read out the protest of the Left against the law received yesterday. Numerous newly joined members (including Fröbel) are assigned to the sections. Beda Weber interpellates the Imperial Ministry regarding the planned administrative measures in Wälschtirol. Since German Tyrol had reason to fear that Wälschtirol would be separated, and since an unmistakable tenderness towards non-German tribes prevailed in Vienna, he asked whether the Imperial Ministry was inclined to take a determined stance, and particularly regarding the intended establishment of an appellate court in Trent, intended to secure German law for the 14,000 Germans scattered across Wälschtirol, and finally whether the alternate would be summoned in place of deputy Prato, who had entered the Austrian Reichstag. Minister v. Schmerling declared his intention to reply on this matter next Friday. The agenda is the deliberation on fundamental rights, starting with § 30: taxation (state and municipal burdens) is to be arranged in such a way that the preferential treatment of individual estates and properties ceases. According to reliable information, the commission unanimously dismissed the indictment against Zitz, Schöffel, and Simon; the report is to be delivered on Thursday.

While the population formed rifle companies for territorial defense and raised donations for wounded soldiers, the region was directly integrated into the Frankfurt National Assembly through the deputy Beda Weber. At the same time, Merano remained a prominent spa destination, as evidenced by the summer stay of King William I of Württemberg. →
