Meran, 3 Dec. Yesterday evening, the k. k. Feldzeugmeister (General of the Cavalry) Leopold Freiherr von Geramb, second proprietor of the Grand Duke Alexander Hussar Regiment, holder of many orders, and one of the most distinguished cavalry generals of the Austrian army, died at Schloss Winkel in the 71st year of his life. He had spent more than 50 years of it in military service, and numerous wounds bore witness to his bravery.

Military Command's Acknowledgement of Patriotic Donations
The Military Command for Tyrol and Vorarlberg expresses its gratitude to donors for contributions made to the troops in 1845. Among the benefactors listed is the Meran City Magistrate, who donated wine and bread. These patriotic donations were also reported to the Imperial Council of War.
