Journey of the Bishop of Passau through Tyrol and Merano
Bishop Heinrich Hofstetter of Passau travels through Tyrol and, following a brief stop with the Capuchins in Meran, continues on to visit the mystic Dominika Lazzari. To the disappointment of the local congregation, the bishop cannot extend his stay in Meran.

According to oral reports, on the following day, 8 September, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a similar honour and joy is said to have fallen to the parish of Graun im Vinschgau. Regarding the further journey of the most reverend Bishop of Passau, a letter from Meran reports the following:
Meran, 10 Sept. (Corresp.) Yesterday evening the most reverend Lord Bishop of Passau, Heinrich Hofstetter, arriving from Vinschgau, arrived here and took up his night's lodging with the venerable Capuchin Fathers. Today at 6 o'clock in the morning he celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the monastery church, and then continued his journey to Capriano to visit the blessed virgin Dominika Lazzari. — Our fond hope of seeing the pious shepherd of souls in our midst for a longer period has been thwarted for this year.
