Establishment of the Sisters of Charity in Glurns
At the start of the school year, the Sisters of Charity commenced female education and nursing in Glurns. The institute's founding was made possible by a bequest from the late Bishop Grasser of Verona alongside further donations. The town, weakened by several fires, hopes for continued high-ranking support in the future.

Glurns, 20 Nov. Following the high gubernatorial approval of 8 August of this year, the Sisters of Charity have taken up their doubly beneficial calling of female education and nursing in this municipal community at the beginning of the school year. For the establishment of this institute, the late Bishop Grasser of Verona bequeathed to his native town a legacy of 2,000 fl. C. M., and a series of generous benefactors made substantial contributions, which may accept public thanks here alongside the quiet reward of conscience. The small town, impoverished by three fires, may hope all the more confidently for support in the future, having had the good fortune to find patrons of the highest spiritual and secular rank from the very beginning.

Tender for the Relocation of the Post Road from Merano to Tel
The Imperial-Royal Provincial Gubernium announces the public tender for the rerouting of the post road between the Vintschgauer Tor in Meran and the Töll in two construction sections. Total costs are estimated at over 82,000 gulden, including a new wooden bridge near Forst. Qualified contractors are invited to submit sealed tenders by the end of December 1843.
