Imperial Prize Shooting Match in St. Leonhard in Passeier

St. Leonhard in Passeier, 15 Oct. Following a divine service held expressly prior to yesterday's Sunday observance, dedicated to the welfare of His Imperial-Royal Apostolic Majesty and the Passeier riflemen — attended by the Imperial-Royal district judge, serving simultaneously as chief rifle master (Oberschützenmeister), together with the deputy master, rifle councillors, and rifle officers, as well as many riflemen and members of the public, and with the battle-tested old rifle company flag newly decorated with the silver homage medal awarded by the high provincial estates on display —, the annual prize match for the imperial awards took place at the main shooting range in St. Leonhard amid large and general attendance and merriment; this range has been endowed with imperial awards perhaps more generously than any other, and had only the previous month held a sizable free-shooting contest in joyful gratitude for the gift of 300 fl. C. M. graciously bestowed upon this range by His Imperial-Royal Majesty on 20 August of this year in Meran. — Joy and gratitude for so gracious an honour granted to the Passeier rifle company and its range were likewise voiced through toasts and jubilant vivats offered to Their Imperial-Royal Majesties and the most serene Archdukes, wishing them the best of health and a safe return to the imperial residence with the warmest blessings, after the prizes gallantly contested throughout the year both at the local main shooting range and at the branch ranges at Sand and in Moos had been distributed to the winners in the evening, and after the year's range accounts revealed the handsome fund secured by the supreme imperial donation.
