Culling of Predators in Tyrol in the Year 1833
An official report records the predatory animals culled in Tyrol and Vorarlberg in 1833: 27 bears, 6 wolves, and 2 lynxes. The government disbursed 1,176 florins in convention currency in bounties for their killing. This marked a significant increase compared to the previous two years.

In the course of the past year 1833, predatory animals were killed in this province as follows: 27 bears, 6 wolves, and 2 lynxes. The lynxes were killed in the districts of the Landgerichte Steinach and Bregenz, the wolves in the judicial districts of Ala, Lana, Klausen, and Brixen, and the bears all in the three southern circles of Botzen, Trient, and Roveredo.
The government defrayed 1,176 fl. W. W. C. M. in rewards.
In 1831, only 15 predatory animals were killed, and in 1832 only 12.
