Overview

In December 1825, unusually prolonged rainfall caused severe flooding in the Puster Valley and southern Tyrol. The rising waters damaged numerous roads and bridges, devastated riverbanks along the Adige and the Dobbiaco stream, and interrupted postal communications.

In December 1825, unusually prolonged rainfall caused severe flooding in the Puster Valley and southern Tyrol. In addition to destruction wrought by the Toblach stream, the Adige, and the Fersina near Trento, numerous roads and bridges were damaged and postal traffic was disrupted.
