Grand Marksmen Festival in Meran Hosted by Archduke Johann
In May 1851, celebrating his residence at Schenna Castle, Archduke Johann hosted a grand marksmen festival at the Meran shooting grounds. Following a ceremonial procession through the town, the Archduke presented an ornate ibex-horn cup of honour to the Meran marksmen, reaffirming his deep ties with Tyrol.
