Major Fire in the Market Town of Mals
On the night of 7 May 1836, a major fire in the centre of Mals destroyed 19 residential houses, claimed one life, and killed several horses. Thanks to the prompt intervention of numerous helpers from neighbouring communities, the church, the rectory, and the Capuchin monastery were saved.
