Stay of the Imperial Couple in Brixen and Continuation of the Journey via Meran
Report on the arrival of the Austrian Imperial couple and the Viceroy of Italy in Brixen on 23 June 1832. Following visits to public institutions and an excursion to Spinges, their journey was scheduled to continue via Meran on 25 June.

According to a letter just received from Brixen dated 24 June, Their Imperial and Royal Majesties the Emperor and Empress, accompanied by His Imperial and Royal Highness the Viceroy of Italy, arrived there in the best of health on the 23rd at 11:30 a.m. amidst the jubilation of the residents. The following day, Their Majesties inspected the various public institutions and intended to undertake a mountain excursion into the area of Spinges. On 25 June, Their Majesties intended to continue their journey via Meran.
1832 at a glance
The year 1832 was shaped by regional reports on demonstrations of loyalty and charitable initiatives, particularly on the occasion of the Emperor's birthday and the 40th anniversary of Emperor Francis I's reign in Bozen. At the same time, detailed contemporary treatises documented the construction, engineering, and economic significance of the newly built Stelvio Pass road and surrounding regions. Retrospectively, local events such as fire disasters and statistics from the previous year were also covered. →
