Chronicle

October 1852

Overview
In October 1852, agricultural concerns and natural events shaped developments in the Merano region. While the grape harvest was severely impaired by persistent rain and vine diseases, leading to market speculation, the fruit harvest was exceptionally abundant despite quality concerns. Additionally, the killing of a large bear near Naturno drew attention, and the spa town recorded over 1300 guests since mid-August.
