Overview

In September 1828, the harvest in southern Tyrol showed mixed results. While wine, nuts, figs, and chestnuts were of excellent quality, grain and corn suffered from heat and hail damage. However, fears of a general food shortage or speculative price increases were explicitly dismissed.
